Forth Sector Development - the consultancy arm of Forth Sector - has been at the forefront of social enterprise and social firms’ development in Scotland for nearly 20 years, and has led the development of SROI in Scotland, following on from a European Equal Programme pilot between 2005 and 2008. This funding was matched by support from Communities Scotland. The programme involved methodology development, strategic assessment and input into the thematic group ‘Access to Finance’, engagement activities with the key stakeholders, development of training and information materials and dissemination of learning from the pilot. The outputs were 10 SROI evaluative reports with a range of third sector organisations and their stakeholders, a Communities Scotland Learning Profile, and a series of recommendations which were made in the final report ‘Investing in Impact’, available from the Forth Sector Development website.
Forth Sector Development was the lead delivery partner in the recently completed SROI Project, funded by the Scottish Government and following on from the recommendations drawn from the Equal pilot. The SROI Project ran in conjunction with the Office of the Third Sector funded Measuring Social Value project in England, and concluded in March 2011.
